RELEASE: JANUARY 2015

Absolution is on the top of Baxter Bennett’s priority list. As a decorated war veteran returning home from the battlefields of Germany, he struggles to overcome the memories of dead soldiers and terrified civilians. Gravely wounded—both emotionally and physically—Baxter seeks forgiveness from the woman he desperately loves, but she has vowed to never forgive him as he was a witness to her brother’s lynching and did nothing to stop it.

  1. I just read this book in one setting. It drew me in. I was unable to sit it down. It takes place in the south from the 40s. It has multiple layers to this story. Love, regret, barriers, and death. If you can see past a few racial slurs I suggest you give the story a chance.

  2. Hi Nikki,

I’m glad you enjoyed the story. I was inspired by my grandmother’s youthful exploits. She had a summer fling with a Klan member back in the late 1930s.

Thank you for reading and commenting!

    Regards,

    Siobhán
